While we just started the Mesa Hydration Campaign to collect bottled water for our community’s homeless and vulnerable neighbors, water needs go beyond bottled water when families enduring financial struggles have to face the stress of losing access to running water during Arizona’s warmer months. Recently, we had the opportunity to step in and help a local mother of a junior high student right here in East Mesa.

After unexpectedly losing her job, this hardworking mom secured part-time work while actively searching for a new full-time position. Despite her efforts, the reduced income wasn’t enough to cover all of her household expenses, including the May water bill. As shutoff notices began to arrive, the stress and uncertainty mounted.

The junior high’s dedicated social work team explored every available local resource to help this family avoid a water shutoff. Unfortunately, they hit roadblock after roadblock. That’s when they reached out to Klaus Team Cares.

Thanks to the support we receive from our donors and real estate partners, we were able to jump in quickly and make a direct payment to the City of Mesa on behalf of the family. The payment brought the account current and ensured uninterrupted water service.

This is exactly why Klaus Team Cares exists—to respond swiftly and discreetly when families in our community face temporary hardships. Our goal is to keep people on their feet while preserving their dignity and stability.

Our nonprofit is funded by contributions made by Klaus Team Real Estate Solutions and its agents at the close of real estate transactions, as well as donations from individuals throughout the community. If you’d like to support our mission, you can learn more or donate at klausteamcares.org.

Together, we can continue to make a real difference—one family, one need, one act of kindness at a time.
